Medal Type: WW2 - 1939-1945 War Medal

Corps/Service:
Merchant Navy

Country: Ireland
The year of J. Riney's death 1966 his medals in custody of Queensland Public Trustee were turned over to R.S.S.I.L.I.A. and were presumably sold to some one. PTQ passed then on when Dame McNally who failed to drop by their office to pick them up. She who claimed to be a friend having expressed a desire to have Uncle Jerry's medals. They were both living in Spring Hill - a three minute walk apart. ++++++++++++++++++++ Medals that he received for his WWI service were among those sent to RSL. ---------------------------- The medals that I found to be his (per NAA) for WWII service were: < 1939-45 War Medal 1939-45 Star Atlantic Star -------------------------------- As to his medals for WWI service (I'm not sure of). These may likely be: +++++++++++ 1914-18 Victory Medal Merchantile Marine War Merchantile Marine Pair I, his nephew Denis, traced my uncle to Brisbane and found his resting place in Nudgee Cemetery on Sep 22, 2008. +++++++++++++++ I'm eager to have the listed medals of Uncle Jerry's in my possession and later to pass them to my two sons. ------------ Thank you kindly for items such as these that you may have, or any of his belongings. ++++++++++++++++ God Bless! http://wwww.angelfire.com/ri/poste/medalsgone.html <br> A web story I created for new year called medalsgone.html but when found my family will rejoice when I create a medalsfound.com web page story.

Thomas Rule Eadington MITCHELL..... My grandfather's war medal (British War Medal) sold on the 11th of March, 2008 to an unknown person. My family has absolutely no idea how the medal left our family, nor who sold the medal. We are desperately making a plea to the person who legally purchased the medal, to show an act of extreme kindness and return the medal to our family. Your assistance in helping us to retrieve this family heirloom would be met with the utmost appreciation.
