I am looking to find Harry's WW1 medals
He seved in Gallipoli and was killed in 1916 near Pozieres in France. There should be 3 medals (1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal) he would have been entitled to and impressed with his name.

My great uncle James RAPHAEL served in the Boer War 1900 - 1901 and was awarded the Queen's South Africa Medal with 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State & Transvaal. I only discovered this information recently and have started the search to find his medal. I do know the medal was sold at auction in London through DMW in 2005 and that it was purchased by a dealer in the UK. If anyone knows the whereabouts of this medal I would be most interested in hearing from them.

World War 1 service number 949; Rank – Private/Driver; Unit: 6th Infantry BN “H” Company; Enlisted 17 August 1914; Embarked from Melbourne 19 October 1914 on HMAT Hororata A20; Returned to Australia 7 September 1915 on Ascanius; Discharged Melbourne – 25 July 1916. Medals from World War 1 left family in 2000, sold to a collector, collector sold medals in 2004 through Noble Numismatics in Melbourne. Will consider reasonable price to enable either medals and/or any militaria relating to William John Jones, to return to the family.

I have not seen my grandfathers medal engraved with his number on the back, #1201 for some time, plus a medal my husband's grandfather was awarded in the South of France, it wasn't a recognised medal, it was for a shooting competition, which I understand they held regularly. If anybody has any knowledge of where they could be, my family would very much appreciate hearing from you.
