Corps/Service: Signals Corps
Country: Australia
I am searching for the missing First World War Medals of my great grandfather, William LAHN. His details as per the First World War Embarkation Roll are as follows:- Service Number: 19252
Rank: Sapper
Roll title: 1 to 5 Divisional Signal Companies and Signallers General Reinforcements, Special Draft (Egypt),
Conflict / Operation: First World War, 1914-1918.
Date of embarkation: 3 September 1917.
Place of embarkation: Sydney,
Ship embarked on: HMAT Kyarra A55. Unfortunately the missing British War Medal and Victory Medal were pawned by a distant relative and subsequently sold through Nobles's Numismatics Auctions. The original pawning of the medals was performed without the knowledge or consent of my side of the family. So we are hoping that whoever now has the medals may consider selling them back to my family as they are desperately sought for sentimental reasons.
