He enlisted with 14bn. 5th reinforcements. Joined unit at Gallipoli 13-11-1915, from there went onto Belgium. Discharged 22-5-1919

Harold Bertie Thrupp was born in Wingello New South Wales. He was a 24 year old Grazier from Surat Queensland when he enlisted in the A.I.F on the 24th of June 1915.
Harold was T.O.S of the 9th Battalion on the 18th of November 1915 and arrived at Alexandria on the 4th of January 1916. He was admitted sick to Hospital on the 27th of January 1916 and invalid back to Australia in April and discharged medically unfit (Cardial).
During WW2 Harold once again enlisted with the Australian Army, service number Q67087, however this service only spanned for a couple of months.

Spelling of the street name was blurred and may not be correct, but definately the first five letters are "Kings"and may in fact be "Kingsclare" or similar. If your ancestor had this surname and lived at this address or one with similar spelling, these medals may belong to your family. Medals sold on eBay by an unknown seller (to an unknown buyer).

Harold William Carter was born in Portsmouth England. At some stage he made his way to Australia and was working as a 21 year old Railway Porter when he enlisted in the A.I.F on the 17/08/1914. An original member of the 2nd Battalion he was allocated to H Company, having already previously served in the 6th Hampshire Infantry for two years.
Harold would have landed at Gallipoli on the 25th as part of the second or third waves. Sometime between the 25th and the 30th he was wounded and evacuated to Alexandria on the 01/05/1915. He re-joined his unit at Gallipoli on the 22/06/1915, however was evacuated again on the 03/07/1915. He returned to Australia on the 19/01/1916 and was discharged medically unfit on the 01/09/1916.
