My name is Wayne Crighton. William Crighton to my knowledge upon returning from WW1 never married or had any children. William was from the Numurkah (Waaia) district in Victoria. His parents names were John and Rebecca Crighton. He died in 1980 in NSW. Being a great great Uncle of mine I would be interested in acquiring the medals to be returned to close family. William embarked on HMAT Ulysses on 25th October 1916. William fought on the Western Front in France in numerous battles and was wounded in action on 23 April 1918 and took no further part in the war. He returned to Australia in October 1919.

I am searching for the missing First World War Medals of Harry CLAYTON. Called-up for service 1/10/17 and posted to No 87 Training Reserve Battalion as Private TR/5/110224. Transferred to 4th (Reserve) Battalion Yorkshire Regiment 8/12/17. Embarked for British Expeditionary Force France 31/3/18 and posted to 1/4th Bn Yorkshire Regiment (TF). To base depot on arrival in France. Joined battalion 8/4/18. Admitted to hospital at Etaples 11/4/18 with a carbuncle on his neck. Discharged to depot 12/4/18. Rejoined battalion 11/5/18. Reported missing 27/5/18. Recorded as Pow upon “PC from soldier”. (He returned the standard German issue postcard saying he was a prisoner). He was incarcerated at the Pow camp at Langensalza. Any assistance to locate the missing British War Medal and Victory Medal of Harry CLAYTON would be very much appreciated.

My family is searching for the missing First World War medals of 4142 Private Arthur William Hensworth who enlisted in Western Australia on 6 December 1915 and embarked on overseas service on 01 April 1916 in the 10th Reinforcement of 28 Battalion 1st AIF. Pte Hensworth was posted to D Company, 28 Battalion and fought but was captured on 29 July 1916 in an assault on Pozieres. Pte Hensworth remained a Prisoner of War for the remainder of the war in Germany at Wahn and later Dulmen. He returned to Perth, Australia in 1919. My grandfather was issued the two medals shown above which are missing. If anyone locates these medals, please contact Medals Gone Missing. Kind regards Christopher Hensworth.
