Advanced Search
- Name: Entering SURNAME only should be sufficient to achieve a result. Initials only of first names, seperated by full stops may be entered. No spaces between the start of the Surname and the full stops: example: J.F.MCGRATH or C.H.TRAYNOR. Apostrophie must be entered e.g. O'REILLY

- Unit Number: Enter the unit number ONLY - no other details. i.e. to find all items under the 10th Lighthorse Regiment - simply type in the number 10. He enlisted in the Australian Army on 8th August 1942 and served until 7th January 1946, ranked as a Lieutenant and serving in 4 Field Ambulance at the time of discharge.

Date of sale: 24 July 2011 First World War Memorial Plaque (also known as a Death Plaque or Dead Man's Penny) issued in commemoration of Bertram NEAL who served with the 1st Machine Gun Corps during the Great War. Bertram NEAL was the son of William and Sarah Neal; husband of Maude Alice Neal, of "Rokeby," Ladbroke Rd., Epsom, Surrey, England. Native of Grays, Essex, England. According to the First World War Embarkation Roll, Bertram NEAL boarded HMAT Orsova (A67) on the 6th of December, 1916 at Port Melbourne as a reinforcement for the 5th Machine Gun Company. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records (CWGC) indicate that he is buried at the ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY.

CRAM"). According to the World War Two Nominal Roll, William David CRAM was born in Mount Gambier, South Australia on the 23rd of June, 1923. He first served in the Royal Australian Navy with the service number PA2815. He served on HMAS Hobart. On the 18th of August, 1944 he transferred to the Royal Australian Air Force and discharged on the 12th of August, 1947 from the Air Gunnery School at West Sale. His next of kin was Elizabeth CRAM.
