A British born interpretor adn motor expert of Melbourne. He returned to Australia on the 21st of July, 1917 suffering from shell shock during the battle of Pozieres.

Lieutenant Frederick John Rayner SIMPSON. Originally enlisted as a Private with the Royal Fusiliers with the Service Number of 2063. Later transferred to the 4th Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment. May have been with the 5th Battalion when Killed In Action on the 31st of July, 1917. The son of Frederick and Alice Simpson of Uxbridge, Middlesex. 1914/15 Star is un-named, BWM and Victory Medal are engraved with Lt. F.R.Simpson.
