Date of sale: 08 July 2011 Second World War medals (1939-1945 Star, Pacific Star, 1939-1945 War Medal and the 1939-1945 Australia Service Medal) awarded to Serjeant At Arms William Geoffrey LUTON who was born on the 14th of December 1920, at Cammeray in Sydney. According to the World War Two Nominal Roll, William Geoffrey LUTON enlisted into the Second AIF on the 2nd of September, 1941 with the Service Number NX44155. He served with the 2/6th Armoured Regiment and based on this, it is possible that he took part in the first tank battle involving Australian armour at Papua New Guinea, the action taking place at Buna. He discharged from the AIF on the 21st of January, 1947. His next of kin was William LUTON.
